Elections and Get Together

Location: the Otter Lodge (click here for location and info)

the downstairs, banquet area of the Otter
Food and drink available - order from & pay servers who will come to down to us

Attendance: open to all

Purposes: meet-and-greet, celebrate a great season, a little bit of business

Business - start around 8pm (discussion will be limited as to not take time away from meeting & greeting):

2/27/11 Try It Race Details

The Sunday Morning Race Series for February 27

Location: Mendon Ponds Park, North Meadow (same as Winterfest Courses)

Cost

Race fee: free to members and RXCSF Youth, $5 for everyone else (covers both the clinic and race)
Insurance fee: free to NYSRRA members, $5 if not a NYSRRA member (insurance required for clinic participation also).

Maps

medium course - 1 climb, ~ 500 meters per loop - fuchsia on this map
long course - 2 larger climb, 1 shorter climb, nice down hill, ~ 1000 meters per loop - lite blue on this map
the Water Tower loop will not be used so that we don't cross the Snow Shoe race occurring near the same time

Events, Timings, and Distances

8:30: registration, all races
9am - all youth races & novice
1. J6 (2003 - 04) & J5 (birth dates 2001 - 02) - one medium loop
2. J4 (1999 - 00) - two medium loops
3. J3 (1997 - 98) & novice adults - three medium loops
9:30am
1. J2 - two long loops
2. J1, OJ, Intermediate & Advanced adults - four long loops

All events are freestyle. You can choose to skate or classic ski.

The Sunday Morning Race Series for February 13

Location: Mendon Ponds Park, South Meadow

Registration Start - 8:30am @ the corner of Pond and Douglas Roads

Fees: free to Youth/Jr. Program & Foundation members, $5 to others

NYSSRA insurance - $5 if not a NYSSRA member

Style - Freestyle (skate or classic)

Two different loops will be set up:

Youth & Novice loop = ~ 500 meters per loop
1. 9am - J6 - one loop
2. 9:20am J4 & J5 - 2 loops
3. 9:45am J3 - 3 loops
4. 10am - Novice Adult - 3 loops
J2 through Adult - 2.9 miles per loop
1. 10:20am - Advanced - 2 loops
2. 10:25am - Intermediate - 1 loop
