This past season we welcomed Darren Leach to the RXCSF Board as our Grooming Coordinator. Darren has already provided valuable expertise to help us maintain and coordinate our grooming equipment, ensuring our machines are ready when the snow flies. We greatly appreciate Darren’s efforts and look forward to continuing to work with him in the seasons to come. Please read a brief bio about Darren below. 

Darren Leach
Grooming Coordinator

Darren Leach joined RXCSF as Grooming Coordinator in December 2020.  Darren developed an interest in cross country skiing when his children joined West Irondequoit’s cross country ski team.  Through this, Darren got involved in officiating Section V races and eventually this led to him becoming involved in grooming Durand Eastman during the winter months.  After his stint in grooming Durand Eastman, he entered his current role as Grooming Coordinator.

Darren is an Operating Engineer for Crane Hogan Structural Systems and has over 30 years of experience in this profession.  Some notable projects he has worked on include the Port of Rochester Marina, Monroe County Crime Lab and the tunnel at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport.  Darren has a passion for coaching as he has 13 years of experience coaching both boys’ and girls’ soccer of all ages.  He also previously served as Assistant Coach for the West Irondequoit Nordic team.  In Darren’s free time, he enjoys skiing, boating and spending time with family.    

Darren is excited to continue his role at RXCSF where he can make cross country skiing accessible and enjoyable for all.
