When Rochester fails to deliver the snow, Harriet Hollister Recreation Area comes to the rescue!

Harriet Hollister has a magic microclimate so that when there is no snow 5 miles away, there can be a foot on the ground at HH. The elevation of 2200 feet causes the temperature to run about 5 degrees colder than the Rochester NY area, and the hills cause snow to drop right onto the cross country ski trails. Being at the South end of Honeoye Lake (one of the Finger Lakes) means it probably gets mini- lake effect snow. No grooming and skiing strongly discouraged until after hunting season (mid-December).

Parking Lot is off Canadice Hill Road, GPS: 42.69458,-77.525607Located at 2000+ foot elevation,
